New drivers face a lot of excitement – and pressure – as they earn their license. And with proms, graduations and summer road trips, it’s crucial to make sure teen drivers are safe drivers.
To kick off April being Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the SDOHS and L&S launched a spring campaign targeting these new drivers. We filmed three digital videos with real students at real South Dakota high schools using demonstrations, games and stunts to illustrate the importance of safe driving. Teens could visit www.LessonLearnedSD.com to watch the videos, take a short safety quiz and enter to win $10,000.
We used mobile messaging, in-school materials, digital video placement and social media to spread the message, along with state-wide PR efforts.
