Smart ideas. Creative solutions. Passionate leadership.
These are qualities Lawrence & Schiller holds in high regard. So much so, each quarter we honor one individual and one team that embodies the spirit of 5280 and consistently goes the extra mile for clients and co-workers.
First, the individual honor. We call it the Marketing and Advertising Professional (MAP) award. The competition is tough. More than a dozen people are usually nominated each quarter. All are worthy candidates but only one can win when our team leaders and Executive Team members cast their votes. For the second quarter of 2015, our MAP winner is Emily Murtha.
Emily is a media strategist on the “Wizards” – our team that specializes in marketing for the restaurant industry (it’s the team that works with Taco John’s and HuHot). Emily has worked tirelessly this past quarter to create and implement new media strategies with an emphasis on digital and social media delivery. She consistently tracks the performance of paid media campaigns. She’s transparent in her reports, persistently pushing to develop new creative to replace underperforming elements.
In addition to her client responsibilities, Emily is also a co-leader of our Media team. She helps the discipline find new best practices, pursue professional development and improve overall performance. Congratulations, Emily! Thank you for all you do for L&S and our clients.
The second honor Lawrence & Schiller presents each quarter is the “Plus It” award. This traveling trophy is shaped like a fighter’s championship belt however its name an homage to one of the most creative minds of the 20th century – Walt Disney. Disney was renowned for reviewing the work of his animators and saying, “That’s great. Now plus it.” In other words, don’t settle… keep pushing to make your work better.
That same spirit of determination in the pursuit of perfection is what we honor with the Plus It award. This quarter the honor is presented to “Muse” (our telecommunications team) for its work on the “Happy Devices” campaign for Midcontinent Communications. With a unique style of animation and a playful creativity, the Happy Devices campaign promotes Midcontinent’s high-speed Internet (which, by the way, is the fastest ISP in America) and preferred cable services.
The Happy Devices campaign has successfully sold Midco XstreamTM for a number of years. (If you want proof, check out this case study.) Every season, the campaign has been updated and extended with new creative themes while maintaining consistent messaging. It required a determination to consistently raise the bar and continue driving sales numbers. Congratulations, Muse. Great job creating marketing that delivers positive results and showing us what it means to plus it.
